Services
Six word lines. One plane. Strung for your operation.
BBCS KENNEDY LLC offers a focused set of systems design services to structured operations. Every engagement is delivered from our Salt Lake City studio at 1354 W Van Buren Ave, Salt Lake City - 84104-2914, United States (US), and scoped in writing before any work begins.

What we do
Systems design for structured operations
The six services below are the whole of our practice. BBCS KENNEDY LLC does not offer general marketing, staffing or hardware resale. We stay inside computer integrated systems design because that is where we can be genuinely useful: deciding which system owns which truth, engineering the paths between them, and documenting the result so it survives the people who built it.
Most clients begin with one service and discover that a second is needed to make the first stick. That is normal. A workflow cannot be anchored without a stable integration underneath it, and automation cannot be trusted without documentation and a migration plan behind it. Read the six descriptions and then tell us where your operation hurts most.
Systems Integration Architecture
Systems integration architecture is the study of what talks to what, who owns each piece of information, and how those owners exchange it safely. We begin with a full inventory of the platforms in use, including the spreadsheets and mailboxes that quietly hold critical state. From that inventory we build a target architecture that names every system of record, every interface, every scheduled exchange and every manual step.
The output is a set of diagrams and written rules that a non technical manager can follow. Each interface carries a defined contract: the fields exchanged, the direction of travel, the frequency and the behaviour when a partner system is unavailable. We test the design against real failure cases, such as a duplicate submission or a partially completed record, before any build work starts.
Clients choose this service when they have accumulated tools faster than they have accumulated decisions. We bring the decisions.
Data Workflow Engineering
Data workflow engineering turns the architecture into a traced path that every record can follow. We design intake, validation, enrichment, approval, routing, archiving and retention as discrete steps with clear inputs and outputs. Each step names its owner, the system that executes it, and the rule that decides what happens next.
We pay particular attention to the exception paths, because that is where real operations spend their time. What happens when a required field is missing, when two records conflict, or when an approval is never given. A workflow that only describes the happy path is not a design, it is a hope. Ours account for the awkward cases first.
The result is a workflow guide plus a validation matrix that the team can test against. When a new hire can trace any record from intake to archive without asking around, the engineering has done its job.
Process Automation Design
Process automation design removes the repetitive manual steps that introduce quiet errors. We look for the copy and paste routines, the double entry habits and the regular reports assembled by hand, and we design automation that performs them reliably. The scope is deliberately conservative: automate what is stable and well understood, and leave judgement with people.
Each automation is specified before it is built, with the trigger, the actions, the expected outcome and the alerting that fires when something departs from plan. We insist on visible logs so the team can see what the automation did and reverse it when necessary. Trust in automation is earned through transparency, not asserted through cleverness.
Typical results include fewer rekeyed records, faster reconciliation at month end and far less time spent chasing the question of who changed what and when.
Platform Migration Planning
Platform migration planning treats a move off an ageing system as a sequencing problem first and a technical problem second. We assess the current platform, catalogue its data and its quirks, and define the target. Then we build a phased cutover plan with explicit rollback points, parallel running windows and reconciliation checks at each boundary.
A migration plan from BBCS KENNEDY LLC is written for the person who has to sign it off. Every phase states what moves, what stays, how long it takes, who is on call and how we prove the data arrived intact. We include a communication schedule so staff and customers know what to expect, and a freeze window policy so last minute changes do not destabilise the cutover.
We can remain on hand through the migration as technical advisors, or hand the plan to your internal team and stay available for questions.
Documentation and Standards
Documentation and standards exist so that knowledge does not leave the building when a person does. We write operating manuals, interface contracts, naming conventions, environment notes and runbooks in plain language. Standards cover how new systems are named, how records are identified, how changes are approved and how incidents are recorded.
We place documentation where the team already works rather than in a distant shared drive nobody opens. Every runbook is tested by walking it with a team member who did not write it, because a procedure that only its author can follow is not yet finished. Diagrams are kept simple enough to redraw by hand during a phone call.
This service often follows a larger engagement, but it can also stand alone as a rescue for a system that currently depends on a single long serving employee.
Technical Advisory Retainers
Technical advisory retainers give a team ongoing access to outside systems judgement without committing to a full project. A monthly seat includes a recurring review call, written responses to architecture questions, and a standing invitation to send vendor proposals and migration plans for an independent read.
Retainer clients use us as a sounding board before they sign. We review integration claims, question assumptions in scoping documents, and point out the operational consequences a sales demonstration tends to skip. When a decision cannot wait for a committee, the retainer provides a fast, documented opinion from someone who already knows the environment.
The retainer is deliberately bounded. It supplements your team, it never replaces it, and every recommendation is written so it can be challenged, costed and declined.
Process overview
The four movements of every engagement
-
Map
We interview the people who run the operation, inventory every system and spreadsheet, and trace how a real record actually travels today. The map is blunt about manual steps and single points of failure.
-
Design
We agree the target architecture with the people who will own it, choose the integration patterns, and write the workflow and automation specifications. Nothing is built until the design is signed off in writing.
-
Build
We deliver the connective work in tested increments, each with its own verification steps and rollback notes. Automation is logged, interfaces are contract tested, and migrations are rehearsed before they are run for real.
-
Keep
We hand over documentation, standards, runbooks and training so the team can maintain its own weave. Advisory retainers keep an outside eye available for the decisions that arrive later.
